About Brittany Campbell

Edited1.jpg

Hello! A few things to get know me by are that a dad joke will always win with me and if you can appreciate Lucille Ball, you and I will most likely get along. I've been working in the theater industry for 15 years and have developed some wonderful works and  relationships along the way. From talking about set design to how high someone should be kicking that developpe, I enjoy working and developing theatre with all sorts of creatives. The majority of my work has been with the community and in so, I have worn almost every hat in the theater industry, except electrician, please don't ask me anything about watts. My goal in the theatre, other than telling a strong story, is to bring that connection from the stage to the audience. My casts understand that they are in a safe space and my audiences get to join their journeys as they tell the story of the play, or musical we are producing. Working with minimal budgets has also given me a great knack at MacGyver-ing under pressure and maintaining calm in stressful situations. My ADD brain allows for quite a few tabs to be open at once giving me a jump on seeing the full picture of the scene and of the production. I'm often in awe at the work my teams create and when my actors are vulnerable and honest, it gives me the utmost honor to be their director. As a choreographer, you better be pointing that toe, but I'll remind you with a little love and for my "movers" just fake it till you make it. I'll get you to where you need to be before an audience sees you. If you want to work with someone who knows when to push and when to pull, who gives and takes with the full production team, than I would love to work with you. Check out my resume and contact me when you realize that we should definitely discuss how the choreography in Hamilton is brilliant when you watch all of the "motifs" being strewn throughout the story which also connect with the lighting design on the floor. If you haven't had a chance to see Hamilton yet, do yourself a favor and watch "Satisfied" and "Helpless" back and forth. I promise it's worth it, and

so am I.
